Hello! In just two days we’ll be celebrating EMO-WEEN. xD Sharpen that eyeliner, dust off those old pop-punk playlists, fluff up your hair, and don your best black clothes and band tees. Whether you’re feeling emo because of seasonal depression or because you saw MCR three times this year, all are welcome to come bask in the darkness with us, hehe :3
We’re looking forward to seeing everyone’s outfits — this is a Halloween show as well, so you have so many aesthetic directions you could go in! Plus, if you’re handy with a roll of toilet paper, you could even win a prize. We’ve got all sorts of exciting queer performances for you, from drag to puppetry to original r&b tunes — we’ll see you at Dromedary Bar on Thursday at 7.
xoxo

Meet the Performers
Mini q+as with the artists gracing our stage on October 19.
How would you describe the work you make as a performer?
Connie Lingus (they/them): BAD BAD UGLY GOOFY WEIRD BAD GROSS NONSENSE!!!!! In a pretty pink bow :)
Morghan Kennedy (she/her): I am an R&B pop singer songwriter. All my singles are tarot inspired and feature custom made tarot cards as their album art. I’ll be performing my song Intimidated for y’all, which depicts the Empress and I released it on Halloween a few years ago!
Tella Novela (she/they): Tella is the glamour chola of nyc. She is an amalgamation of everything I admire in all of those incredible cholas I grew up around in Fresno, CA. With everything she does, she aims to emulate the power and the beauty of the chola; so, most numbers often include a touch of sexy, a touch of banjee, and definitely some nails and hoop earrings.
Vape Kid Jr (he/she): I would describe my approach to performance as “drag theater.” I’m interested in finding new storytelling techniques in drag including sound design and puppetry. I take a lot of my inspiration from low-budget horror movies and genre fiction. Inspired by the out-of-the ring story telling in pro wrestling, I’ve been exploring expanding the world of Vape Kid Jr through his Instagram page where I share art and microfiction.
Gabriel Generally (they/them): I’m just a silly goofy gal who’s really cunty and little, 😌for the bit ofc🤍
What’s a tasty thing you’ve eaten lately?
Connie: call me jimmy cuz i ate world. you’re all in my belly now! :)
Morghan: My current hyperfixation food is pepperoncinis. I am addicted to them thanks to tiktok. If you eat them with a little cream cheese and pepperoni?? Amazing.
Tella: Ass (shoutout to Matthew, you sexy lil witch). BUT besides that, some vegetarian chorizo y juevos con papas. I found the most inCREdible vegan chorizo crumble a couple years ago made by Tofurkey, and I can’t find that shit anywhere anymore. But the stupid expensive Fine Fare near my place just added some pumpkin seed based vegan chorizo crumble. And while I still have to add hella more oil and cumin, it’s pretty good.
Vape Kid Jr: I made some really good shallow fried chickpeas with turmeric, coriander, and cayenne pepper with a side of blistered tomatoes. So good!
GG: Can I say? Oh I can’t sa-… oh ummm Mac and cheese
Do you know your sun, moon, and rising signs?
Connie: Yes! :-)
(aquarius sun and moon, leo rising)
Morghan: Pisces sun, Capricorn moon, Taurus rising
Tella: I often say it’s my JOB to know those as an nyc drag queen. Issac’s chart is a Capricorn sun, Aries moon, and Aquarius rising. I think when Tella comes out, my chef flips a little and I become an Aries sun and a Capricorn moon.
Vape Kid Jr: Leo rawr :)
Scorpio >:)
Scorpio >:)
GG: Aries ☀️Leo🌕 Libra⬆️
What’s your emo fall anthem?
Connie: does bullet hell by machine girl count
Morghan: Going Under by Evanescence
second runner up: Everybody’s Fool
Tella: Chappell Roan, who is a Midwest queen that makes music basically for drag queens, dropped a lovely album recently. “Casual” is the new moody pop anthem - “I hear from so many friends that I’m just the girl that you bang on your couch” like yikes bikes. But also I bop my bussy for Omar Apollo, and I’ve been stuck on “Three Boys” since it came out. If I was fucking Frank Ocean, I too would feel too attached to him to have a threesome. (That’s partially a lie, Issac and Tella are famously sex-addicted little hedonists.)
Vape Kid Jr: Art school wannabe by sorority noise
GG: Daddy whatever you’re listening to🫦 put me on to something
Are there any upcoming shows or projects you’d like to plug?
Connie: Clown Cult presents: CLOWN-O-WEEN! saturday 10/21 at Rubulad. an immersive clown-stravaganza with stage acts, cult rituals, frick frack, djs, and so much more!!!
Morghan: I’ve been releasing one song a month and will continue to do so for the rest of the year! Last month's song was called Nicely, available everywhere now! This month's song is called Options, available at the end of this month.
Tella: Thank you for asking!
Wed. 10/25 @7:30pm - I SPY fundraiser for PeaFest (a fundraiser for a festival of new theatrical work done by Breaking & Entering Theater Company)
Sun. 10/29 @9pm - Tella’s Television Ep. 15: TaylorWeen (my bi-monthly drag show at Dream Baby in the East Village, celebrating the rerelease of 1989 with a Halloween celebration of all things Taylor Swift)
Vape Kid Jr: Vape Kid Jr is an ongoing multimedia storytelling project. I am always revealing more “Vape Lore” and “Vape Art” on the Vape Kid Jr. Instagram page. I’m in Video Store III: Season of the Bitch Saturday 10/21 @Windjammer 10pm. It’s a blended drag and rock show celebrating camp horror and B movies.
GG: not in particular, check my insta for upcoming projects
